Reach, Build, Send

As we prepare to celebrate Singapore Campus Crusade for Christ’s 40th anniversary, I have been led to reflect upon the last forty years of God’s faithfulness to our movement. I am heartened that our call and commitment to fulfilling the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) has remained the pillar of focus in every sphere of our work. Even after 40 years, we continue to reach, build and send multiplying disciples of Christ to the nations. Allow me to share some recent ministry updates with you.

Our Sports Ministry organized a 2-day sports competition, called ‘Edge Games II,’ held over 2 Saturdays. The goal was to engage students from different backgrounds through sports and games. Edge Games II saw about 200 students and ministry team members battling it out in several team sports events. Through friendly competition, these students learned something about godly values, character formation, and sportsmanship.

In collaboration with the Celebrate Christmas in Singapore (CCIS), we are working towards producing a preevangelistic Christmas magazine to be distributed during the Christmas season (Dec 17-25). We hope that the stories and testimonies of Christmas will point many to the Reason for the Season.

We had recently organized a Parents’ Appreciation Dinner for our staff. 113 parents dined with us and had the opportunity to hear the gospel explained in Mandarin by Rev Oh Beng Khee.

At one of our student freshmen orientation camps, a student came to know our Lord Jesus Christ!

Our US counterpart has produced a coaching / discipleship resource entitled ‘The Significant Woman’ (TSW), to help women discover their uniqueness and personal mission in life. Through TSW, we hope to give women a voice and purpose in whichever season of life they are in, to help them live life with significance, and be empowered in reaching, building and sending
multiplying disciples to build spiritual movements wherever they are called to be.

In conjunction with this, we organized two conferences. The TSW Taste Conference was an introduction to this resource, and was attended by 126 women, who left the conference feeling inspired to start their own small groups. The second conference, TSW Champions Gathering, was organized for women with a passion for women’s ministry. We are humbled and encouraged that the 70 participants from 10 countries who attended the conference, have been inspired to use the TSW resource to help raise more leaders for kingdom work.

For 2012, God has blessed us with 10 new stinters/staff. They are currently undergoing our staff training in preparation to be lifelong labourers for the global harvest. We are heartened to see these young men and women responding in faith to God’s call to fulltime vocational ministry.

As part of our Sending initiative, ‘Go.Serve.World’, we have sent 130 participants in 15 teams to be a blessing to the nations. We are trusting in God’s provision to send a total of 40 teams by June next year.

Through the grace of God and His leadership over us, we will stay faithful to His call to help fulfil the Great Commission. Even with the impending name change, let me assure you that
fulfilling the Great Commission remains our central focus.

Thank you for your gracious and generous support, as well as your faithful partnership with us through all these years. We are truly blessed by your prayers and giving! In summing up the last 40 years, I echo the words of the prophet Isaiah, “Lord, you have established peace for us; all that we have accomplished you have done for us” – Isaiah 26:12.
